How long does SEO take to start working for me?
What is SEO?
What IS copywriting?
Have questions about copywriting? I’ve got answers.
How do blogs impact my ranking on Google search results?
How do you find keywords for my wedding business?
How do you learn how to write in my brand voice?
How do you incorporate my feedback?
Do you collaborate with designers?
What kinds of wedding businesses do you work with?
What IS copywriting?
Copywriting is a fancy word that - frustratingly - has NOTHING to do with copyright law or intellectual property.
Copywriters (like me!) write promotional and marketing material to help business owners (like you!) connect with ideal clients and make sales. It’s my job to take complex information and break it down so anyone can understand it, and do it in a way that optimizes the information to show up in search results!
What is SEO?
SEO stands for search engine optimization. This is all the fancy stuff copywriters, website designers, and other marketing specialists do in the background to help increase your website’s visibility. (Things like keyword and competitor research, page linking, compressing photos, adding alt-text, and more!)
The goal is to help your website reach the first page of search results (because who actually looks on the second or third page of Google?)
How long does SEO take to start working for me?
In general, when you start incorporating SEO blogs and website copy, it takes about six months to a year to see a significant change in your ranking on Google. However, I’ve seen clients receive inquiries based on Google searches as early as three months after rewriting their website copy and posting consistent, SEO blogs!
How do you learn how to write in my brand voice?
The ability to write in your brand voice comes from getting to know you and your business! This starts with a consultation call, but I pick up a lot of your tone, sense of humor, and style from our communication, your social media presence, and a (very) in-depth questionnaire I send once we sign a contract!
How do blogs impact my ranking on Google search results?
This is probably my favorite question, right after, “Do you want to order Thai food for dinner?” (The answer is always yes.)
Well-written, strategic blogs are about industry-relevant topics and are full of market-researched keywords. This helps you land in those top search results, which gets clients on your website, which gets you booked.
Plus, as your blog gets more clicks, you earn authority in Google’s eyes, which helps you rank even higher on search results. Blogging is a long-term marketing strategy that will continue attracting leads for years.
What kinds of wedding businesses do you work with?
All kinds! In the past, I’ve worked with wedding photographers, planners, stationers, and even a dog concierge! I’ve also worked with brand and website designers, family photographers, social media marketers, and more.
While my first love is the wedding industry, I am always excited for the opportunity to work with other small business owners.
Not sure if your business will fit? Let’s chat! If I’m not a great fit for you, I have a long list of incredible copywriters I can recommend.
How do you incorporate my feedback?
When we work together, I always send you a first draft of your copy via Google Docs. This is your opportunity to comment directly on the document and tell me what you like and don’t like. This helps me specify your brand voice and understand your goals even better!
Once you’ve finished commenting, I make changes based on your feedback to create a document you feel confident in and well represented by.

Hey! I’m Jo.
I’m a copywriter for wedding businesses, SEO Strategist, and a strong believer in the power of community.
No matter where you are on your wedding business journey, investing in your business can be scary. But this is the harsh truth: you can’t do it alone. Growing a business is like raising a child, it really does take a village.
The best part about growing your business is that you get to choose your village. (Your mother-in-law can’t interfere here! Unless you love your mother-in-law, you lucky duck.) As part of your village, I can help you create an online presence that accurately represents you, build a community alongside your clientele, and work with people you love.
“Joanna really takes the time to get to know you and your business. I appreciate that she doesn't take a cookie-cutter approach. She’s fantastic and if you’re ever in need of a great copywriter, definitely reach out to her!”
