As a copywriter for wedding vendors, one of the most common things I hear is, “I would blog, but I have absolutely no idea what to write about.” I get it! Writers block is a b*tch, and staring at a blinking cursor all day is maddening. That’s why I’ve written up 5 foolproof blog topics for wedding photographers! Write down these ideas and save them for a rainy day when you just cannot think of any ideas to blog about. (It happens to the best of us!)
Take it from a 2025 bride: most of your clients will have no idea what to ask you. Most couples have no idea what separates a good photographer from a not-so-great one. So posting an educational blog that will highlight some important questions will save your couples a lot of stress!
This is your chance to include some FAQs and some questions you wish couples would ask before booking. You can even use this topic to subtly flex your expert knowledge, like explaining how your specific camera lens captures light the best or how you back up your photos to ensure they aren’t lost in an emergency.
Photographers and venues are usually the first things booked. Share your knowledge! A wedding photographer will view the venue differently than the couple or planner. You’ll notice the lighting, backgrounds, reflective surfaces, and how much room the wedding party will have. These are things your clients will never think about but will want to consider when choosing their venue.
This was actually the first question I Googled when I got engaged. Like many brides, my wedding photos are very high on my priority list. So answer this question for them! How soon in advance do you wish your clients booked you to avoid last-minute stress? How fast do you book up? This is one of the first things your clients will want to know!
Chances are, you read this topic and immediately had a few things come to mind. Good! This is your opportunity to show clients that you’re trustworthy. Trust in the wedding industry is at an all-time low right now, and couples are hesitant to book vendors. By being transparent about bad practices in the industry, you can show your clients that you understand their fears and will work hard to prevent those situations.
This is one of my favorite blog topics for wedding photographers. It’s effective for two reasons. First, this is a highly searched topic. Many couples want their engagement photos done soon after getting engaged so they can send a photo with their Save the Dates.
Second, by adding specific locations (and linking their websites and addresses!) your blog will show up in location-based searches. This will help Google learn more about your business and get your website in front of the right people!
I know, writing blogs feels like a last priority. But blogging is one of the absolute best ways to drive natural traffic to your website and start connecting with your dream clients! These blog topics are geared specifically for wedding photographers to help you overcome writer’s block and start landing in the correct searches!
